Equipped to investigate micromachining and laser applications such as drilling, cutting and ablation, the new micromachining-application laboratory at the headquarters of Trumpf Inc., Farmington, CT, promises to get a lot of attention from the medical, electronics and aerospace industries, to name a few. The lab includes the firm’s short-pulse laser systems—the TruMicro Series 5000 and 7000—and a diagnostic station where applications engineers can analyze and document feasibility tests and perform time studies.
