Norton Abrasives, Worcester, MA, unveils a major upgrade to its best-quality depressed-center wheels for right angle grinding applications. Norton NorZon Plus wheels now utilize a proprietary blend of the firm’s newest-generation SG ceramic-alumina and BlueFireT zirconia-alumina abrasives, combined with a new high performance bond system for significantly improved grain microfracturing. The NorZon Plus line also has been expanded with the introduction of NorZon Plus Fast Cut depressed-center wheels, designed for optimum material-removal rates.
The improved microfracturing capability of NorZon Plus provides a continual supply of serrated cutting edges, enabling unparalleled productivity, wheel life and overall cost effectiveness across a broad spectrum of right-angle grinding applications. NorZon Plus Fast Cut provides a 15- to 30-percent increase in cut rate compared to standard NorZon Plus wheels, say company officials. The wheels are available from 4- to 9-in. dia., ¼ in. thick.
