Engineers from Bohler-Uddeholm Corp., Elgin, IL, will be on hand to explain the recent acquisition of Eifeler Coating Technologies, and Eifeler’s Duplex Variantic coating system. The low-temperature coating process combines plasma nitriding with the Variantic PVD-TiAlCN process. It’s designed to meet the needs of various metalforming processes, including stamping of advanced high-strength steels (AHSS), and deep drawing.

Visit the booth to learn about the studies that have been done on D2 B-pillar dies, featuring sections coated with Variantic Duplex, used to stamp AHSS.
