The new Motorum 2048ST turret punch press, from Murata Machinery USA, Charlotte, NC, which continues the evolution of Muratec’s ram-axis servo-driven punch press, is designed as a replacement for the Motorum EZ, according to the company’s fabrication national sales manager Lloyd Keller. The new machine features a larger table and turret, reinforced J-frame design and upgraded specifications.

The press’s new energy-efficient ram drive reportedly is less complex and more rigid, resulting in higher punch speeds and productivity. The Motorum 2048ST promises to economically produce parts requiring punching, forming, tapping and deburring.

The economical positive-strip tooling (Wiedemann style) is precisely controlled throughout the punching stroke. And with 28 tool stations standard, the Motorum 2048ST can be expanded by utilizing 12-station Varitools.
