Olympic Steel Expanding All Over

National metal-service center Olympic Steel, Inc., Cleveland, OH, has announced plans to take on nearly 300,000 sq. ft. of additional warehouse, processing and office space throughout North America. Included is the purchase of the U.S. Steel site in Gary, IN, (177,000 sq. ft.) to house a new temper mill and cut-to-length line, to become operational by year-end 2011. The firm also will lease 43,000 sq. ft. of warehouse space in Kansas City, MO; 8000 sq. ft. in Quincy, WA; 57,000 sq. ft. in Minneapolis, MN; and 15,000 sq. ft. in Monterrey, Mexico.
