A new 48,300-sq.-ft. building is on the up in Elgin, IL, soon to become the North American headquarters of Bystronic Inc., Hauppauge, NY, a manufacturer of laser- and waterjet-cutting equipment, press brakes and system software.

The new location, which will serve as the firm’s marketing, sales and training headquarters for North America, will house a 14,000-sq.-ft. showroom, 10,000 sq. ft. of office space and a 24,300-sq.-ft. area for spare parts and logistics. Bystronic officials and Elgin politicians broke ground at the facility’s site January 21, 2011; a grand-opening celebration is slated for October 2011.
