Sandvik Surface Technology, Benton Harbor, MI, introduces two new stainless-steel strip materials: Decorex color-coated strip in a range of colors and surface textures; and Santronic single- or double-sided coated strip, designed to replace electroplated stainless steel and copper-based alloys for use in electronic components. Both materials come in a variety of alloys in strip as thick as 0.8 mm and in widths to 370 mm.

Decorex features an anti-fingerprint layer; bending and forming typically will not affect the color. Santronic combines high-purity layers of nickel, tin, silver and copper, providing optimum electrical, corrosion and soldering properties. Its coating consistency—from coil end to end and from batch to batch—as well as very low thickness variation—±10 percent—promises to optimize stamping productivity.
