Five 800-ton transfer presses, complete with coil lines and three-axis transfer systems, have been installed by the Schuler Group at four separate European manufacturing plants owned by BSH Bosch and Siemens Hausgerate GmbH. The manufacturer of household appliances installed the press lines at facilities in Traunreut and Bretten, Germany, Montanana, Spain, and Cerkezkoy, Turkey.

Key features of the transfer systems that minimize die-change times, say Schuler officials, include use of fast-action couplings on the tooling that automatically disengage and reengage during die changes; sensors that monitor clutch status; and automatically coupled power and data cables. The coil lines can process coils in widths from 500 to 1400 mm, weighing to 15 metric tons.
