High-Performance PVD Tool Coatings
March 1, 2008Comments
Phygen Coatings, Inc., Minneapolis, MN, offers high-performance PVD coatings using its patented coating process and technology to apply coatings with superior adhesion, toughness and low co-efficient of friction, according to company officials. Phygen’s FortiPhy coating reportedly forms high-strength low-alloy and stainless-steel-like hot-process CVD or thermal-diffusion coatings, but at half the process temperature. As a result, FortiPhy coatings will not peel off, distort or change die dimensions. The company offers full-service polishing and stripping as well as a tool-refurbishing program.
