The washer-dryer manufacturing plant of Miele, in Gutersloh, Germany, claims to have raised stamping output by as much as 50 percent thanks to the addition of a new Schuler 1600-metric-ton servo press. The press stamps complex housing and structural parts, many of stainless and chrome steel, and runs at up to 45 strokes/min. in progressive mode. And, as an example of running the press in transfer mode, it stamps drum caps at 24 strokes/min., compared to 16 strokes/min. using a conventional press.
