On Friday, June 6, the U.S. manufacturing industry was handed a victory in the Senate as the Lieberman-Warner Climate Security Act of 2007 (S. 2191) failed. According to a study commissioned by the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), the act would have had a damaging impact on businesses of all sizes. PMA supported NAM’s efforts to prevent this bill from becoming law.
While no further action is expected in the Senate this year, another bill is expected to be addressed early in the next Congress.
