Tooling Update

Carpenter Technology, Wyomissing, PA, a producer of conventional and powder-metal specialty alloys, including stainless and tool steels, announced plans to acquire Latrobe Specialty Metals, Inc., Latrobe, PA, a manufacturer of high-performance materials for the aerospace, defense and energy industries. Latrobe manufactures its products—cold- and hot-work tool steels, high-speed steels and more—at facilities in PA, OH, TX and the UK, and operates seven U.S. distribution centers.
