Worthington Steel Expanding Monterrey Joint-Venture Plant

Worthington Industries, Inc., Columbus, OH, announced plans to add a pickling line to its joint-venture facility (with Serviacero) in Monterrey, Mexico. The 160,000-sq.-ft. expansion with have the capacity to process 500,000 tons/yr. for tolling and direct customers.
In addition to the Monterrey facility, the joint venture (Serviacero Worthington, S.A. de C.V.) operates service centers in Leon and Queretaro. Serviacero Worthington offers services such as slitting, multiblanking and cutting-to-length to customers in a variety of industries including automotive, appliance, electronics and heavy equipment.
