Grant to Aerospace Manufacturer to Fund Development Work for Wind-Turbine Industry

Kelly Aerospace Thermal Systems LLC, Willoughby, OH, will receive a $350,000 grant from the state of Ohio for further development of de-icing technology targeted for use on wind-turbine blades as well as jet-engine blades.
The firm manufactures the Wind Turbine Ice Protection System, an electro-thermal system that can be adapted for use on any wind-turbine design. Its grant is part of a $40.1-million grant package awarded to Ohio companies by the Ohio Third Frontier Commission.
