Worthington Industries Opens JV Facility in Mexico

Steel-processing company Worthington Industries, Columbus, OH, has opened a greenfield steel-processing plant in the Monterrey region in Escobedo, Mexico. The facility is Worthington’s third in Mexico completed with its joint-venture partner the Serviacero Group; Serviacero Worthington also has operations in central Mexico, in Leon and Queretaro.
Phase One of the Monterrey plant is a 65,000-sq.-ft. facility with a 72- by ½-in. slitting line and an automated packaging line; Phase Two will include a cut-to-length line.
