Mazak Optonics Corp., Schaumburg, IL, has begun construction on its new $10 million North American headquarters complex in Elgin, IL, and plans to open the 50,000-sq.-ft. facility by year-end. The Elgin complex, a compliment to the firm’s new 100,000-sq.-ft. manufacturing plant under construction in Minokamo, Japan, will include a 25,000-sq.-ft. showroom, with a 37-ft. ceiling and 20-ton crane, to house as many as 18 laser-cutting machines for demonstration and training.
