Beckwood Press Co., St. Louis, MO, has been awarded a manufacturing agreement with PTG Technology, Tulsa, OK, to manufacture a deep-draw sheet hydroforming press. The Triton Hydroform press, rated to 10,000 psi, reportedly weighs 33 percent less than a traditional press and requires floor space of only 118 by 220 in. The 2200-ton machine is engineered for portability and installs in one day at most facilities, says Beckwood.

The low weight and overall height of the press eliminates the need for special flooring, including expensive pits and foundations. The press is programmable in bladder only and bladder and punch modes, and comes standard with CNC controls for rapid setup and tight control of the forming process.
