Contrinex, Old Saybrook, CT, has increased the operating distance of its Series 500 miniature inductive 4-mm-dia. and M5 devices to 2.5 mm, by incorporating advanced ASIC technology. By increasing the operating distance to more than three times the standard distance, the sensors can be mounted safely away from moving parts.
