Drive and Motion-Control Technology

Wednesday, February 1, 2017

Bosch Rexroth exhibited its latest fabricating- and metalforming-machine technology during FABTECH 2016, led by the company’s scalable CNC products.

On display was the core of Bosch Rexroth’s CNC products, the IndraMotion MTX motion controller. This family ranges from the compact MTX micro with integrated CNC, PLC, drives and IO, to MTX system controls that are scalable to as many as hundreds of axes. The newest platform version supports another multi-core CPU—the CML 75 with control of as many as 64 axes and 12 channels. All MTX systems are Industry 4.0-ready.

Also showcased was cabinet-free drive technology, with the new IndraDrive Mi including a cabinet-free power supply (pictured). This design eliminates drive electronics from the cabinet and allows machine builders to mount a more compact controls enclosure directly to the machine, freeing plant-floor space. The latest generation features additional safety functions, Sercos and multi-Ethernet communication, intelligent control functions and an energy-efficient power supply.
